The eighties begins with nothing resembling the decade that people wish to build time machines to return to. This list is full of artists that nobody tends to think of when they think of the decade.

1980-81 is a time where disco is dead and adult-contemporary songs reign supreme. A time when MTV is still a dream in Bob Pittman’s imagination. A strange in between where one decade has ended, but another one is just beginning to take shape…
